WHERE DID DARREN O’BRIEN START HIS MUSIC CAREER?

Darrin O’Brien, also known as Snow, is a Canadian Hip Hop and Reggae artist from Toronto, Ontario. He grew up in a disadvantaged area in the North York section of Toronto and he later moved to Ajax, Ontario. He was always surrounded by multicultural people in his area as there were a lot of people from Jamaica and other parts of the West Indies, which is how he began experimenting with his own unique blend of hip hop, rock, and reggae. The name Snow came about because some of his neighbors used to call him Snow or Snow White because he was a Caucasian that had taken a strong interest in Jamaican music and culture. O’Brien started working as a DJ in local clubs, which is where he met DJ Marvin Prince, a Jamaican DJ that recognized his talent. From that point, O’Brien began working with DJ Marvin Prince and he would provide the vocals for tracks that they had produced. Soon after O’Brien would be introduced to a popular rapper named MC Shan, who recommended him to some producers in New York City named Steve Salem and David Eng. Steve Salem and David Eng produced his first album entitled “12 Inches of Snow” and they had him signed to the Motorjam/Elektra record label.More info here: Download: Esque’s Bubbly World Party “Bones To Be”
